NYTimes Amazes Me

"Jerusalem's veneer of harmony, tolerance and inclusiveness is as thin and as alluring as the fine layer of gold covering the gray lead dome standing on the top of the contested Temple Mount, or the Haram al-Sharif as it is called in Arabic."

Why?

First of all, "Temple Mount" comes first.

As it should.

Second, the employment of "Arabic" rather than "in Islam", for example.  After all, Jews use/used Arabic as a language.

But thirdly, a bit of a mix-up, I think.

There are two domes there. One gilded gold over the Dome of the Rock. The second is indeed gray but is over Al-Aqsa.

So the NYTimes gets it only two-thirds correct in the end.

The article related to this exhibit.
